French Fries.

French fries are the deep frying and cooking of potato. The potato is usually cut into long strips or chunks and cooked with oil. A french fry is usually soft in the centre, yet crispy and golden on the outside batter. However due to the excessive use of oil and/or batter, a french fry is commonly described as 'fattening' due to the lack of healthy nutrients. French fries come in a variety of shapes and sizes, whether they be sliced straight, in curves or in curls.

French fries are common within fast food restaurants such as: Mcdonald's, KFC and Oporto. These stores sell large quantities to not only the Australian population but all around the world. 'Statistically, America consumes one of the largest amounts of this product in the world.' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_fries
